Ruby Sparks (2012)

"This is the true and impossible story of my very great love. In the hope that she will not read this and reproach me, I have withheld many telling details: her name, the particulars of her birth and upbringing, and any identifying scars or birth marks. All the same, I cannot help but write this for her, to tell her "I'm sorry for every word I wrote to change you, I'm sorry for so many things. I couldn't see you when you were here and, now that you're gone, I see you everywhere."

There once came a movie that one should watch it on his/her own.

This is that kind of movie. The kind of movie yang bikin mikir buat mulai, dan memulai kembali, menyambung kata di halaman kosong.

This is not a love story, also not a story about love.

This is a story, about Ruby.

Gue selalu suka film slow pace. Film yang lebih condong ke perkembangan karakter, yang jadi inti utama cerita. Meskipun gue ngga nolak juga buat diajak nonton A Good Day To Die Hard baru-baru ini.

But still, a story like this is very heartwarming. Cerita dimana kita bisa menemukan kesamaan karakter. Bentuk lain 'hiburan yang sesungguhnya'. Tanpa ledakan, tanpa menanggalkan pakaian (oke mungkin ada beberapa adegan nudity disini but not full, to my disappointment)

Terapisnya, Dr. Rosenthal (Elliott Gould) menyarankan dia buat mulai menulis novel lagi.

Some of you might say: "this is a total chick-flick." Well I could say it might be is, but also, it isn't.

For you who love the kind of movie like (500) Days of Summer (2009), The Art of Getting By (2011), or The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012), which are actually a slow pace movie with cool soundtrack, you guys are gonna love this.

One of the song from the movie:

Composer of this brilliant movie soundtrack is Nick Urata. Well, hampir semua lagunya cuma instrument, but I don't know, this movie is perfect with that kind of music.

And with that chick-flick kind of thing, it will be chick-flick because who doesn't think Paul Dano as an introvert novelist is hot?

So what are you waiting for? Go watch this movie! xx
